About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Buyer to join our team at 127 ST. LIQUOR. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for selecting and purchasing merchandise for resale, negotiating prices and discounts with suppliers, and maintaining adequate stock levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Research and Analysis
    • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and consumer preferences.
  • Product Sourcing and Procurement
    • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements.
    • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, taking into account factors such as quality, price, and availability.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand and minimize stockouts.
  • Merchandise Planning and Presentation
    • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
    • Arrange product according to planogram to ensure visually appealing displays and optimal sales.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements with suppliers.
    • Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets and ensure timely delivery.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
