Battery Machine Line Operator

Position Overview:

The role of Battery Machine Line Operator encompasses various responsibilities, including the repetitive handling and organization of heavy materials, preparation of workstations, and maintenance of cleanliness in designated work areas. This position requires loading and unloading materials, utilizing manufacturing and warehouse tools, and collaborating with team members on related tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive attitude, the ability to follow instructions, and a strong commitment to teamwork. Excellent communication skills and the capability to work independently in a dynamic environment are essential, along with a keen attention to detail when managing different types of batteries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely battery changes in alignment with equipment needs.
  • Confirm that all batteries are adequately charged and maintained before installation in material handling equipment.
  • Manage battery inventory by monitoring charged and uncharged batteries, ensuring proper organization.
  • Inspect battery loaders for damage, verify operational safety features, and complete necessary safety documentation.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workspace through regular cleaning and organization.
  • Adhere to company policies and health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Store batteries of varying voltages in designated areas, organizing them by charge status.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months of experience with battery maintenance or technical roles involving batteries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with health and safety protocols in warehouse or manufacturing settings.
  • Ability to work at heights, flexibility to accommodate shift work, and a hands-on approach to job responsibilities.
  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers.
  • Proficiency in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
