Battery Machine Line Operator

Position Overview:

The role of the Battery Machine Line Operator encompasses various responsibilities, including the repetitive handling and arrangement of heavy materials, preparation of workstations, and upkeep of designated work areas. The successful candidate will engage in loading and unloading materials, utilizing manufacturing and warehouse tools, and supporting team members in their tasks. A proactive attitude, ability to follow instructions, and a strong sense of teamwork are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the timely changing of batteries in alignment with equipment needs.
  • Ensure all batteries are properly charged and maintained before installation in material handling equipment.
  • Monitor battery inventory, ensuring organization and readiness of charged and uncharged batteries.
  • Inspect battery loaders for damage and ensure all safety features are functioning correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including regular housekeeping duties.
  • Adhere to company policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Store batteries of varying voltages in designated areas, organized by charge status.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in battery maintenance or technical roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work at heights and flexibility to adapt to shift work.
  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
