Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated **Battery Assembly Machine Technician** to join our team at Westex International. This position involves working with advanced machinery to ensure the efficient production of dry cell batteries and related electrical devices.

Employment Details

QualificationsEducation
  • Completion of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery for the assembly, testing, and packaging of dry cell batteries.
  • Conduct minor repairs on items that do not meet production standards.
  • Collect, document, and summarize inspection results to maintain quality control.
  • Position lead acid storage batteries on the assembly line for efficient processing.
  • Insert battery components into casings accurately.
  • Fabricate plates for lead acid storage batteries using specialized equipment.
  • Load machinery with necessary components for the production of light bulbs and tubes.
  • Package finished products for distribution.
  • Operate machinery to produce electrical wiring devices.
  • Apply protective coatings to items using designated equipment.
  • Inspect in-process and completed production for any visual or mechanical defects.
  • Utilize testing equipment to ensure product quality.
  • Return defective assemblies to the production line for repair.
  • Identify and label acceptable and defective assemblies.
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools as needed.
Work Environment
  • Repetitive tasks requiring strong attention to detail.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
