Investor Relations Specialist

Join the University of Waterloo as an Investor Relations Officer and play a key role in cultivating relationships with investors, venture capitalists, and other stakeholders to support the growth of our portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities:- Investor Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors, including identifying potential investors, planning outreach activities, and scheduling meetings to address inquiries and provide updates on investment opportunities.
- Financial Communication: Compile comprehensive reports and presentations for Velocity leadership, providing strategic insights and analysis to guide decision-making processes. Engage closely with portfolio companies to develop impactful offering materials, including financial reports, presentations, and succinct one-pagers.
- Investor Meetings and Events: Strategically plan and execute exclusive virtual and in-person investor events, meetings, and webinars to cultivate a vibrant community and enhance engagement. Collaborate closely with portfolio companies to curate compelling and informative presentations tailored to each investor event.
- Continuous Improvement: Solicit feedback from investors through surveys or direct communication to identify areas for improvement. Propose and implement enhancements to communication processes, reporting structures, and engagement strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in entrepreneurship, fundraising, venture capital, consulting, and/or investment banking.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Proven competence in project management, multi-tasking, planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
