Equity Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Equity, the Equity Specialist is a key member of the Equity Office responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring equity initiatives. The Specialist provides campus members with support and guidance on navigating University procedures, ensuring a fair and inclusive environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement equity-related projects, initiatives, and programs to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build equity capacity and foster a culture of inclusivity.
- Provide support and guidance to campus members on equity-related concerns, escalating sensitive issues to the Director of Equity as needed.
- Conduct research and analysis on equity issues, preparing reports and recommendations to inform strategic priorities.
- Maintain detailed documentation and records of equity initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Master's degree or equivalent education and experience in a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a proven track record of implementing successful initiatives.
- Knowledge and expertise in disability justice and/or trans inclusion is an asset.
- Experience working in a post-secondary environment is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
