We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Project Consultant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Perioperative Network, you will work closely with our Senior Director, Clinical Networks, Perioperative and Perioperative Senior Medical Director to facilitate the implementation of strategic initiatives and improvement projects.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide expertise, leadership, consultation, and coordination of planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Perioperative strategic initiatives and improvement projects that advance the achievement of Nova Scotia Health and the Department of Health and Wellness mandates.
You will have in-depth knowledge of Perioperative / Surgical services and serve as a liaison between the Perioperative Network, project teams, and Zone Perioperative leaders. Your role will involve facilitating staff involvement, providing ongoing support, mentorship, and coaching during implementation, ensuring decisions are fiscally responsible, and communicating progress and seeking input from co-leadership teams as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic initiatives and improvement projects that advance the achievement of Nova Scotia Health and the Department of Health and Wellness mandates.
- Provide expertise, leadership, consultation, and coordination of planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Perioperative strategic initiatives and improvement projects.
- Serve as a liaison between the Perioperative Network, project teams, and Zone Perioperative leaders.
- Facilitate staff involvement and provide ongoing support, mentorship, and coaching during implementation.
- Ensure decisions are fiscally responsible and communicate progress and seek input from co-leadership teams as needed.
- Undergraduate degree in a healthcare discipline.
- Master's degree an asset, particularly in health administration, leadership, or business administration.
- Certified Health Executive (CHE) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation an asset.
- Project Management Certification (PMP) / experience an asset.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years' leadership experience within Perioperative Services.
- Experience in working with patient care leaders.
- Experience in leading strategic initiatives and/or large-scale improvement projects.
- Experience in project management, program development, and program evaluation.
- Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units.
- High degree of independent decision-making, creativity, self-direction, motivation, change management, and team-building/leadership skills.
- Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation, and oversight.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems at multiple system levels.
- Knowledge of process redesign methodologies, evaluation, and performance improvement design and methodology.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and influencing skills.
- Experience in the application of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics software.
- Experience in data analytics.
- Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
- Clearly communicates the NSH vision, mission, and values.
We offer a competitive salary of $50.19 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
This is a permanent, full-time (100%) position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The location will be determined based on the successful candidate, and this position is eligible to participate in our work-from-home program. Travel to other sites will be required.
