Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a Child and Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of youth in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and support youth in developing and achieving personal goals
  • Teach and encourage age-appropriate life skills, such as communication, emotional well-being, problem-solving, and more
  • Supervise and participate in programming and activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development
  • Ensure individuals' basic needs are met, including personal care, life skills, and social/occupational skills
  • Participate in daily household tasks and assist youth in care with completing these tasks
  • Drive youth to and from school, medical appointments, and other activities
  • Plan and deliver culturally appropriate programs, services, and workshops
Requirements
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Child and Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • 2 years of related experience in youth programming, group homes, or supported independent living
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract with personal car insurance
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate and training in crisis intervention, self-harm, and medication administration
  • Aboriginal awareness and cultural diversity training
