International Trade Finance Advisor

Export Development Canada (EDC) is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative International Trade Finance Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our International and Export Credit Agencies Relations Team, you will play a critical role in linking EDC to various international fora to influence global policy agendas and rules-based frameworks in the strategic interests of Canadian exporters.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of trade finance products, international commitments, and obligations. They will be responsible for building and maintaining a global network as EDC's primary point-of-contact with ECAs and key multilateral institutions to facilitate the exchange of information and gather intelligence to inform EDC's strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in international affairs and trade finance, with a proven ability to manage fast-paced projects and multiple priorities. They will be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, and have a good understanding of EDC's products and policies.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with ECAs and key multilateral institutions
  • Coordinating EDC's strategic representation in multilateral fora
  • Providing advice on key files and developing EDC positions on international negotiations and ECA business issues
  • Managing international reporting obligations and analyzing information provided by other ECAs
  • Providing export finance and Arrangement interpretation advice to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements include an undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field, and 3-5 years of experience in financing, transactional, advisory, or business development experience. Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
