About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Assessment Engineer to join our team at PAL Aerospace. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis, including static, dynamic, fatigue, and damage tolerance assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and design for aircraft modification and repair projects
  • Develop and implement inspection programs based on fatigue and damage tolerance assessments
  • Sizing of structural components, parts, and assemblies from a static stress and fatigue point of view
  • Determination of fatigue allowable stress levels for sizing
  • Support the structural design process to ensure required quality for fatigue and damage tolerance is achieved
  • Prepare engineering and airworthiness documentation, including reports and compliance reports
  • Provide technical expertise and support to other engineering functions
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical engineering role supporting aircraft development, modifications, and/or repairs
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Candidates with highly applicable experience (5 years) will be considered in lieu of an engineering degree
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations and standards from Transport Canada, FAA, and/or EASA is preferred
  • Experience with CAD software, Finite Element Modelling Software, and Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Software is preferred
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal communication, writing, and publication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
