We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Leader to join our team at Capital One Canada. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the development of innovative software solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of software projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy software solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
- Identify and prioritize technical initiatives, aligning with business objectives and strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including business partners, product owners, and other technical teams.
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong background in object-oriented programming methodologies.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Typescript, JavaScript, Python, Scala, Swift, Kotlin, or Go.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, and containerization, such as Docker.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- At least 8 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in software architecture and design patterns.
- Experience with mobile development, including Android and iOS platforms.
- Master's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
- Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Experience with cloud-based security and compliance frameworks, such as AWS IAM and PCI-DSS.
