About the RoleWe are seeking a creative and demonstrated leader with excellent analytical abilities and a strong drive to deliver results. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for defining and driving the multi-year vision for a big data processing platform, building, managing, and developing innovative engineers, and delivering robust and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Define and drive the multi-year vision for a big data processing platform.
- Build, manage, and develop innovative engineers.
- Deliver robust and scalable solutions.
- Ensure high quality design reviews.
- Oversee resource allocation.
- Build relationships with software development managers, engineers, product managers, and technical program managers.
- Participate in strategic planning.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
- 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience.
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers.
