Assembler Job Description

CARFAIR - ASSEMBLER

Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology with dedicated team members located in various facilities across North America.

Job Summary

As an Assembler, your primary role is to efficiently assemble high-quality products using hand tools, following standard operating procedures and prioritizing safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare finished products for shipping, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Perform structural and cosmetic repairs on fiberglass components, documenting non-conformities and issuing NCP tags as necessary.
  • Assemble fiberglass parts and install hardware according to blueprints, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Train other team members on assembly procedures and best practices.
  • Cut and sand fiberglass parts to required specifications, utilizing jigs and fixtures as needed.
  • Follow all Lean and 5S initiatives to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Verify blueprints for required assembly and finish specifications, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all safety and housekeeping rules, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in composites or a similar industry is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and reach and bend consistently.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Positive and professional attitude, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Evidence of a satisfactory work record, including performance, attendance, and teamwork.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with issues logically and within company guidelines.
