We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a key member of our electrical engineering group, you will play a pivotal role in managing and guiding projects from inception to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a talented electrical team of engineers and designers in the electrical design of a wide range of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, emergency systems, grounding, and other building systems.
- Prepare design documentation, including single line diagrams, site plans, electrical plans and layouts, panelboard and equipment schedules, calculations and reports.
- Delegation of work to junior and intermediate electrical engineers and designers, checking to ensure accuracy and presentation quality, and providing guidance as necessary.
- Travel to jobsites to gather design data, take measurements and inspect work performed by contractors.
- Registered P.Eng. with Engineers Nova Scotia or another Canadian province.
- 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in designing power systems up to 600V, lighting, fire alarm, communications, grounding and other related systems for buildings, and development of design packages including design calculations, drafting and creating construction specifications.
- Extensive experience in performing on-site services for construction inspections, condition assessments, equipment acceptance testing, and commissioning.
- Excellent demonstrated technical writing, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada and other relevant codes and standards.
