Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Compliance to join our team at RBC. As a key member of our Compliance department, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance on mitigating compliance risks. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our business operations align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly review and continuously improve our core compliance programs to ensure they meet regulatory, legal, and business obligations.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on compliance and work closely with key business partners to provide support and guidance on compliance matters.
  • Perform compliance risk assessments on new initiatives and third parties, identifying potential risks to the business.
  • Execute against planned routine reviews of compliance controls, processes, and procedures, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
  • Support inquiries from regulatory authorities and investigations related to compliance issues.
  • Manage and support investigations and incidents related to compliance breaches.
  • Support compliance diligence requirements for acquisitions and third-party vendors and suppliers.
  • Conduct research and environmental scans on compliance controls and emerging trends.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance.
  • Report on changes in applicable laws and regulations and provide guidance and training as needed.

Requirements

  • University undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, risk management, and regulatory practices.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
  • Experience assessing design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.
  • At least 5 years of work experience interpreting and applying federal compliance law.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to respond to multiple demands and prioritize work activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Canadian certification with the International Association of Compliance Professionals (IACP) or an equivalent credential.
  • Bilingual - French language.
