Your Opportunity:

The Manager of the Medical Inpatient Unit 4C plays a crucial role in collaboration with the Program Director, ensuring the provision of high-quality, accessible, and patient-centered care within their designated clinical operations unit(s) and/or program(s). This position is responsible for the overall operational leadership of the assigned unit(s) and/or program(s), promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and ongoing enhancement, while effectively utilizing resources and contributing to the formulation and execution of operational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

The Manager of the Medical Inpatient Unit 4C will:

  1. Engage in both strategic and operational planning processes.
  2. Oversee the clinical program operations within their area of responsibility.
  3. Address and manage patient and family inquiries as the initial point of contact, escalating issues as necessary.
  4. Serve as the primary contact for local physician inquiries, concerns, and patient care requirements within the unit(s) and/or program(s).
  5. Guide, coordinate, and implement initiatives aimed at program enhancement (aligned with the assigned program(s)), including process improvements and training for rural sites.
  6. Facilitate and oversee patient flow in collaboration with other clinical operations leaders to ensure efficient patient transitions across sites and programs.
  7. Monitor and provide guidance on provincial initiatives.
  8. Oversee and manage assigned budget(s).

Required Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of post-secondary education in a health-related field.
  2. Registration with a recognized Alberta Regulated Health Profession.
  3. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting within a large, complex organization.
  4. Experience collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. A related bachelor's degree in a health profession is preferred.
  2. Management experience in a Medical/Surgical or Post-Operative setting.
  3. Graduate degree in healthcare or a related discipline.
  4. Certification in Change Management.
  5. Certification in Project Management.
