Your Opportunity:

The Manager of the Medical Inpatient Unit 4C, in collaboration with the Program Director, is responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality, accessible, and sustainable care that is centered around patients and their families within the designated clinical operations unit(s) and/or program(s). This role encompasses overall operational leadership for the assigned unit(s) and/or program(s), promoting a culture of excellence in collaborative care and continuous enhancement, while effectively utilizing resources and contributing to the formulation and execution of operational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

The Manager of the Medical Inpatient Unit 4C will:

  • Engage in both strategic and operational planning initiatives.
  • Oversee the operations of clinical programs within their area of responsibility.
  • Act as the primary contact for addressing patient and family concerns, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for local physician inquiries and patient care requirements within the unit(s) and/or program(s).
  • Advise, coordinate, and deliver services related to program enhancement initiatives, including process improvements and training for rural sites within the South Zone.
  • Monitor and facilitate patient flow in collaboration with other clinical operations leaders to ensure efficient transitions through the sites and programs.
  • Stay informed and provide guidance on provincial initiatives.
  • Oversee assigned budget(s) to ensure financial accountability.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of post-secondary education in a health-related field. Registration with a recognized Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting of considerable size, complexity, and diversity. Experience in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals is essential.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A demonstrated commitment to professional and personal growth. Ability to employ strategic thinking while considering long-term objectives and evaluating options and their implications. Proven capability to manage change and devise innovative solutions for multifaceted issues. Competence in managing diverse human, financial, and physical resources within a complex setting. Strong organizational skills, a client-centered approach, and a dedication to delivering quality services over the long term. Leadership abilities, including effective communication, decision-making, coaching, and the capacity to inspire and instill confidence in others. Proficiency in fostering cooperative relationships with public agencies, government entities, boards, committees, and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

A related bachelor's degree in a health profession is preferred. Experience in management within a Medical/Surgical or Post-Operative context. A graduate degree in healthcare or a related discipline. Certifications in Change Management and Project Management are advantageous.
