Spiritual Health Care Practitioner Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Spiritual Health Care Practitioner to join our team at Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a member of our interprofessional health care team, you will play a vital role in upholding dignity in person-centred care by seeking out, assessing and responding to the unique spiritual and religious needs of patients, families and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct spiritual assessments and develop personalized care plans that address the unique needs of patients and families.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional health care team to provide holistic care that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families and staff on spiritual care and wellness.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited Canadian university or the approved equivalent.
  • Supervised clinical experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Active membership in a professional organization with a Code of Ethics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and compassionate environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree related to spirituality and health.
  • Experience working in an interspiritual, multifaith and culturally diverse environment.
  • Additional training in Manitoba Indigenous Cultural Safety, WRHA Health Ethics-Equity, Dignity Therapy, Advance Care Planning, Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) conversations and palliative care.
