About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician to join our team at HC Matcon Inc. as a key member of our infrastructure development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine structural dimensions and material requirements.
  • Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings for construction projects.
  • Participate in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, and testing of construction materials to ensure quality and safety standards.
Computer and Technology Skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Skilled in MS Outlook for communication and organization.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint for presentation and reporting.
  • Skilled in MS Word for document creation and editing.
Civil Engineering Experience
  • Experience in building and structure design and development.
  • Experience in road and highway construction and maintenance.
  • Experience in tunnel and subway construction and maintenance.
  • Experience in sewer and sewage treatment facility design and development.
  • Experience in airport and bridge construction and maintenance.
  • Experience in port and harbor construction and maintenance.
Area of Specialization
  • Highways and transportation infrastructure development.
  • Geotechnical engineering and construction.
Transportation and Travel Information
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
