Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Infrastructure Network Specialist to enhance our IT operations at Giant Tiger. This role is pivotal in managing our extensive IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, databases, security, and backups.
  • Process Development: Design and implement IT infrastructure processes to guarantee reliability, performance, and security.
  • Network Oversight: Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure, such as LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Server Management: Direct the design, deployment, and upkeep of server infrastructure, including virtualization and operating systems.
  • Storage Solutions: Manage the design and maintenance of storage solutions, including SAN/NAS systems and data backup/recovery processes.
  • Security Assurance: Ensure the security of IT systems and data through effective security measures and protocols.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze system performance, capacity, and availability, providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Project Management: Oversee IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and departments to align with business needs and objectives.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in IT infrastructure management and technology.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management or a similar capacity.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows Server, RHEL, SLES, and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong expertise in storage solutions, backup/recovery processes, and data protection technologies.
  • A solid understanding of database management systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2.
  • Knowledge of networking principles and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing/switching.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools, including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
