Position Overview:

We are in search of a Rotating Equipment Engineer to deliver expert support and technical insights for Linde Gas US (LGUS) Hydrogen and CO (HyCO) facilities. This role involves collaboration with Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Mechanical Specialists, and plant staff to enhance troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades of rotating machinery. The successful candidate will report to the LGUS Reliability Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering expertise for operations involving rotating machinery, including:
    • Compressors (Reciprocating, Centrifugal, Screw)
    • Centrifugal Pumps
    • Turbines
    • Gearboxes
    • Condition Monitoring Systems
    • Ancillary Systems (Lube Oil, Seal Systems, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with Reliability Engineers and Maintenance Mechanical Specialists to diagnose rotating equipment challenges, formulate repair and upgrade strategies, and identify root causes to mitigate recurring failures.
  • Oversee the Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program for rotating machinery, ensuring robust vibration monitoring and providing advanced spectrum analysis support.
  • Stay informed on relevant industry standards and emerging technologies to align Linde HyCO facilities with compliance requirements, revising internal standards as necessary.
  • Assist facilities in addressing gaps in Process Safety Information (PSI) and management systems, including performing engineering calculations and liaising with technical resources for documentation.
  • Support rotating equipment enhancements by managing small capital projects and offering technical guidance to Project Managers.
  • Provide assistance to the maintenance team during inspections and overhauls of rotating machinery.
  • Deliver both on-site and remote technical support for mechanical systems at HyCO facilities.
  • Identify chronic failure modes and problematic rotating equipment, developing strategies for resolution.
  • Support turnaround organization and capital projects as necessary, including planning and cost estimation.
  • Lead or assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
  • Conduct Management of Change (MOC) reviews for modifications to rotating machinery.

Qualifications:

This role requires a blend of office and field work, typically involving approximately 25% domestic travel.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a rotating equipment technical resource in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated environment.
  • Category II certification in Vibration Analysis.
  • Level I certification in Machine Lubricant Analysis.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be proactive and capable of working independently as well as leading and participating in cross-functional teams.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively, driving issues to resolution and achieving results.
  • Familiarity with various types of rotating machinery.
  • Experience in OSHA PSM-regulated facilities or processes, with knowledge of mechanical integrity program elements applicable to rotating equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices relevant to a range of rotating and reciprocating mechanical systems.
