Durham College is seeking experienced professionals to join our faculty as part-time professors. We are committed to providing high-quality education and student success.
About the RoleThis is an ongoing posting for part-time teaching opportunities in various disciplines. As a part-time professor, you will teach degree breadth courses and contribute to the academic excellence of our institution.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging course content that accommodates diverse student backgrounds and experiences.
- Utilize Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to promote student engagement and learning.
- Effectively integrate educational technologies to support learning and manage grades.
- Design curriculum that assesses student learning and ensures relevance.
- Work collaboratively with students, program teams, and stakeholders to achieve academic goals.
- A relevant PhD is required.
- A minimum of three years of recent work experience, with a focus on teaching and course development.
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level, with a demonstrated understanding of UDL and current assessment methodologies.
- Experience participating in industry-led or community-based applied research is an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered education.
- Proficiency in using current technologies to support student learning and grade management.
- A proven track record of lifelong learning and professional development.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and community partners.
