Overview:
Humber River Health is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, striving to enhance patient care through technology and clinical excellence. We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse to join our Operating Room Surgical Program.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Manager of the Operating Room.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this role is $35.145 .
Work Schedule:
The role requires availability for 8-hour shifts during days, evenings, and weekends, including on-call duties for weekends, nights, and statutory holidays.
Union Affiliation:
This position is part of the NOWU union.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scrubbing duties as part of the surgical team.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized two-year diploma program in Registered Practical Nursing.
- Valid RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Operating Room Certificate is mandatory, with a preference for candidates with two years of recent operating room experience.
- Proven competence in scrubbing for all surgical services.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- A solid attendance record and a discipline-free history are essential.
