Operating Room Registered Practical Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the Labour and Delivery Operating Rooms on 2SE at North York General Hospital. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will provide clinical competence and excellent patient and family driven care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of care providers to assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health.
- Provide excellent patient and family care, with a focus on obstetric patient population.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, volunteers, and families.
- Think critically, set priorities, and organize work in response to client/patient needs.
- Have proficient skill level with computers, MS Word, Internet searches, data entry, and patient information systems.
- Be committed to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Operating Room post-diploma program certificate preferred.
- 2 years recent Operating Room experience covering all surgical services, including Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred.
- Post partum nursing experience preferred.

This is a Part time Temporary position with 8 hour shifts, day, evenings and night shifts, including weekends, in the Labour and Delivery Operating Rooms on 2SE. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package which includes pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
