We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Labour and Delivery Operating Rooms at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to our hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning.
About the Role
As a Registered Practical Nurse in our Labour and Delivery Operating Rooms, you will be responsible for providing clinical competence, excellent patient and family-driven care, and fostering close relationships with peers across the organization. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing patient needs in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, volunteers, and families
- Make informed decisions, taking ownership of actions and using critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ensure patient safety and health, following all health and safety policies and guidelines
- Embody a commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement
Requirements
- Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Operating Room post-diploma program certificate preferred
- 2 years recent Operating Room experience covering all surgical services, including Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred

This is a Full-time Temporary position with 8 hour shifts, day, evenings, and night shifts, including weekends, in the Labour and Delivery Operating Rooms on 2SE.
