Job Summary

The Funeral Director is a key member of our team at Park Lawn Corporation, responsible for delivering exceptional end-of-life services to our clients and their families. This role requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Service
    • Consult with client families to understand their needs and preferences for funeral and memorial services.
    • Provide guidance on available options and ensure that clients are presented with all relevant information.
    • Coordinate with clergy, other presiding persons, and external organizations to ensure smooth execution of services.
  • Service Planning and Execution
    • Plan and schedule visitations and services, ensuring that all details are attended to.
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of the deceased, including dressing and casketing.
    • Direct and assist with the transportation of client families and service attendees.
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and mentor Apprentice Funeral Directors, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Ensure that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities and are representing the company professionally.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Utilize systems to record merchandise selections, enter contracts, and complete necessary forms.
    • Obtain information needed to complete required documents, such as obituaries, death certificates, and burial permits.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Active Funeral Director's license in good standing.
    • Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Exceptional active listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficient in MS Office and funeral software.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Ability to empathize with client families and their guests.
    • Positive attitude and working environment.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions

The Funeral Director will work in an indoor office setting, with occasional outdoor duties. The role requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and may involve exposure to chemicals and/or blood-borne pathogens.
