About Midwinter Entertainment:
As a proud member of Behaviour Interactive since 2022, Midwinter Entertainment is committed to fostering a culture of creativity, respect, and playfulness. We are currently focused on developing our next exciting project and are looking for a talented Technical Artist to enhance our small yet impactful team.
Your Role:- Collaborate with the art director and environment artists to investigate and propose solutions for content creation challenges during the pre-production phase.
- Partner with technical artists, environment artists, and engineers to transition prototype content into production using Unreal Engine.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on procedural content generation techniques and workflows.
- Provide guidance and education to artists on procedural content generation, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements for Unreal Engine and runtime systems.
- Establish technical standards and production processes to ensure visual and performance targets are met.
- Work closely with Tools and Rendering engineers to influence technology and tool development.
- Collaborate with artists and designers to identify tool and workflow needs.
- Proficiency in designing complex procedural content creation pipelines that prioritize user-friendly workflows for artists and designers.
- Expertise in procedural content creation tools such as Houdini, particularly in their application within Unreal Engine.
- A creative, collaborative, and adaptable problem solver with a commitment to inclusivity.
- Experience in automating content and asset processing.
- Understanding of performance optimization and GPU rendering for real-time content, lighting, and materials.
- Experience in developing workflows and tools throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Ability to create shaders for a variety of assets, including characters.
- Strong communication skills in English, as collaboration with our Seattle office is essential.
