Campus Safety Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Campus Safety Dispatcher to join our team at the University of Guelph. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to emergency calls, dispatching personnel, and providing critical support to our campus community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to emergency calls from the public, staff, and students
  • Dispatch personnel to emergency situations, including police, fire, and medical responses
  • Provide critical support to emergency responders, including coordinating resources and communicating with stakeholders
  • Monitor and respond to alarm systems, including fire alarms and intrusion alarms
  • Document events and actions in our internal records management system
  • Communicate with emergency personnel via two-way radio or phone
  • Liaise with external agencies, including the Guelph Police Service
Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary school education
  • Ability to successfully complete the Emergency Services Communications program
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Email, and other related software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a team environment
