Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Support Specialist to join our team at the Toronto District School Board. As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, including mild to severe exceptionalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with mild to severe exceptionalities, including those with autism, physical disabilities, and multiple exceptionalities.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care and health management.
  • Support students in academic and social settings, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support and services.
Requirements
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with children and adolescents with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
