As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of company payroll in accordance with company and government policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly hourly payroll.
- Conduct pay calculations for new hires, changes, and terminations.
- Reconcile source deductions, benefits, and WCB.
- Prepare various month-end reports.
- Process remittances related to payroll, including disbursements to benefit carriers, tax authorities, and worker's compensation, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Liaise with staff and management on payroll-related inquiries.
- Prepare various correspondence, statistical summaries, and other material related to the payroll function.
- Assist management with internal and external audits.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROE) using ROE Web.
- Perform payroll administrative tasks as required.
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, Accounting, or a combination of equivalent skills and experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of payroll experience processing the full payroll cycle.
- PCP designation and experience using an in-house payroll system are an asset.
- Efficient with Excel, have data processing skills, and can effectively deal with confidential information.
- Excellent communication skills, customer service-oriented, and a team player.
- Ability to manage a large volume of work and consistently meet deadlines while ensuring high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize work to achieve them.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
