Robert Half is partnering with our client to staff a Payroll Administrator role in the Agriculture industry.
Job Summary:The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate production of payroll for employees. This includes analyzing data entered by others in the payroll software, adhering to current payroll tax requirements, and guiding staff with pay-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze data entered by others in the payroll software, including salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence or other unpaid leave.
- Ensure compliance with current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes.
- Provide guidance to staff on pay-related issues, general questions related to payroll, PTO accruals, wage deductions, and fringe benefits.
- Develop systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation, and entering of pay data.
- Process voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities.
- Oversee regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger.
- Aim for timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles.
- Produce quarterly and year-end payroll reports.
- Promote security protocols for pay systems in collaboration with Human Resources, Information Technology, and other internal business partners.
- Experience in working with HRIS systems and high proficiency with spreadsheets.
- Skill in garnishments, processing liens, and various withholdings.
- Union payroll experience.
- Analytical Skills experience.
- Canadian Payroll experience desired.
- Reconcile Payroll experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of Process Bi-weekly Payroll.
- 3+ years of payroll experience.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is preferred.
