About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Precious Stars Childcare Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and ensuring the well-being and development of our young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress and development.
  • Engagement and Activities: Engage children in various activities, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts, to promote their learning and development.
  • Support with Daily Tasks: Assist children with daily tasks, such as eating, dressing, and using the toilet, to promote their independence and self-care skills.
  • Meal Preparation and Room Setup: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for children.
  • Observations and Progress Reports: Submit written observations and progress reports to early childhood educators or supervisors to inform their teaching practices.
  • Staff Meetings and Collaboration: Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress, share ideas, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Support for Diverse Groups: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers, refugees, youth employment, Veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
