We are seeking a skilled Masonry Specialist to join our team at JVH Masonry Ltd. as a Bricklayer and Construction Expert. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality masonry work on various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles, or other masonry units to ensure precise and durable construction.
- Estimate materials, tools, and equipment required for projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Lay bricks, stone, or similar materials to provide veneer facing, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of structures.
- Construct and install prefabricated masonry units, adhering to strict quality standards.
- Prepare tenders and quotations, providing accurate estimates for clients.
- Build patios, garden walls, and other decorative installations, showcasing your creativity and expertise.
- Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required, ensuring accurate planning and execution.
- Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages, demonstrating your ability to work safely and efficiently.
- Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools, showcasing your attention to detail.
- Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces, adhering to safety protocols.
- Supervise other workers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project completion.
- Lay radial bricks to build masonry shells of industrial chimneys, requiring precision and expertise.
- Lay or install firebricks to line industrial chimneys and smokestacks, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Line or reline furnaces, kilns, boilers, and similar installations using refractory or acid-resistant bricks, refractory concretes, plastic refractories, and other materials, demonstrating your knowledge of specialized equipment.
- Restore, clean, or paint existing masonry structures, showcasing your ability to work with a variety of materials and techniques.
- The role is physically demanding, requiring prolonged standing, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Handling heavy loads and working at heights are essential aspects of the job.
- Steel-toed safety boots, hard hats, and gloves are required to ensure a safe working environment.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required to ensure quality workmanship.
- Excellent client focus and interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential for successful project completion.
- A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn is required to contribute to the success of JVH Masonry Ltd.
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in masonry work is preferred.
