About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Masonry Specialist to join our team at JVH Masonry Ltd. as a Bricklayer and Construction Expert. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality masonry work on various projects, including construction, repair, and renovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and Lay Masonry Units: Estimate and prepare materials, tools, and equipment required for projects, and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles, or other masonry units to provide a strong and durable foundation.
  • Estimate and Plan: Calculate materials required for projects by reading sketches and blueprints, and estimate the time and resources needed to complete tasks.
  • Construct and Install: Construct and install prefabricated masonry units, and lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces.
  • Supervise and Collaborate: Supervise other workers and collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Restore and Maintain: Restore, clean, or paint existing masonry structures to maintain their integrity and appearance.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: The role requires physical stamina, as you will be working at heights, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods.
  • Tools and Equipment: You will be responsible for owning and maintaining your own tools and equipment, including safety gear and steel-toed boots.
  • Personal Qualities: We are looking for a reliable, accurate, and efficient individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position, working 35-44 hours per week. The language of work is English, and the work setting is varied, including construction, repair, and renovation projects.
