About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Masonry Specialist to join our team at JVH Masonry Ltd. as a Bricklayer and Construction Expert. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to build residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate and Prepare Materials: Accurately estimate the materials, tools, and equipment required for projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Lay Bricks and Masonry Units: Lay bricks, stone, or similar materials to provide veneer facing, construct and install prefabricated masonry units, and build patios, garden walls, and other decorative installations.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required, ensuring accurate execution of projects.
  • Work at Heights and in Confined Spaces: Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages, and cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
  • Supervise and Collaborate: Supervise other workers, ensuring efficient project execution, and collaborate with team members to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Tools and Equipment: Possess and maintain personal tools and equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and gloves.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, and a team player attitude.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in masonry, with a strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position, working 35-44 hours per week, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced construction environment.

The primary language of work is English.
