Position Summary

The DirectStorage division is at the forefront of delivering exceptional graphics, compression, and Input/Output (I/O) technologies for Windows and Xbox platforms. As digital content continues to expand, you have the opportunity to influence the future of gaming by enhancing the speed at which Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) can access vast amounts of data through advanced compression techniques and leveraging the latest high-speed storage solutions available in the market. We are seeking a Software Design Engineer II who possesses both the expertise and enthusiasm to develop innovative graphics I/O systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to conceptualize and execute graphics I/O functionalities.

Essential Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND a minimum of 2 years of hands-on engineering experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Alternatively, equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening criteria for this role. This includes specialized security screenings, such as:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Candidates must successfully pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hiring/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline AND at least 4 years of relevant engineering experience with programming in languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience in game development, particularly in rendering and/or compression techniques.
  • A solid understanding of GPU hardware operations and the associated APIs.
  • Familiarity with contemporary rendering, compute, and compression methodologies.

Compensation: Software Engineering IC3 - The standard base salary range for this position across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 annually.
