Position Summary

The DirectStorage division is at the forefront of delivering exceptional graphics, compression, and Input/Output (I/O) technologies tailored for Windows and Xbox platforms. As content sizes continue to expand, your expertise can significantly influence the future of gaming by enhancing the speed at which Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) access vast amounts of data through advanced compression techniques and leveraging emerging high-speed storage solutions. We are seeking a Software Design Engineer II who possesses the experience and passion for developing innovative graphics I/O systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to design and implement advanced graphics I/O functionalities.
  • Uphold and promote our organizational Culture & Values.
Required Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND a minimum of 2 years of technical engineering experience with programming in languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • OR equivalent professional experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to meet security screening requirements set by Microsoft, customers, and/or government entities is mandatory for this position. This includes specialized security checks:
  • Successful completion of the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hiring/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline AND at least 4 years of technical engineering experience with programming in languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience in game development, especially in rendering and/or compression.
  • Strong understanding of GPU hardware functionality and the associated APIs.
  • Familiarity with contemporary rendering, compute, and compression methodologies.

Compensation: Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 annually.
