The Opportunity

Embark on a challenging and rewarding career as a Compensation Strategist at Maple Leaf Foods, where you will play a key role in shaping the company's compensation and recognition landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement executive and employee compensation strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Administer annual executive compensation programs, including long-term equity incentive plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice to business leaders and HR colleagues on compensation-related matters, including benchmarking and job evaluation.
  • Prepare and analyze compensation data reports for proxy disclosures and senior leaders.
  • Oversee external benchmarking initiatives and maintain a thorough understanding of compensation and recognition program design, practices, policies, and competitive industry trends.
  • Champion fairness and equity by overseeing Pay Equity reviews across unionized and non-unionized groups in Ontario and Quebec.
  • Develop and implement compensation education and training programs for leaders, HR partners, and team members.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IS to administer and maintain accurate compensation data in HRIS and/or other tools/applications.
  • Oversee and audit the ongoing execution of compensation and recognition programs according to company policies and statutory compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Compensation, with a minimum of 2 years at the managerial level.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Long-term equity plan administration experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP/SUCCESSFACTORS is an asset.
