Quality Assurance Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Operations
Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr
CMLS Financial, a leading entity in the Canadian commercial lending sector, is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst specializing in Commercial Mortgage Operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that loan documentation adheres to the highest standards of quality and compliance as dictated by internal policies and regulatory frameworks.
Reporting directly to the Vice President and Managing Director of Commercial Mortgage Operations, the selected candidate will meticulously evaluate loan documentation, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of commercial lending nuances and CMLS' internal standards. The QA Analyst will be instrumental in providing insightful feedback on performance and proposing effective solutions to identified issues based on extensive expertise. Additionally, the analyst will assist in transaction quality control reviews and support various quality assurance functions related to loan transactions within the Commercial Mortgage Operations team to fulfill business objectives and achieve performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on CMLS' commercial mortgage division policies, practices, and compliance standards;
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of commercial mortgage documentation;
- Identify trends and areas for improvement based on quality assurance evaluations;
- Recommend best practices to enhance internal processes and procedures;
- Generate precise reports on findings and communicate additional training needs to management;
- Collaborate with management to refine quality assurance protocols and adapt auditing processes to evolving business and risk management requirements;
- Assist in implementing process improvements and internal controls;
- Provide training support as necessary;
- Facilitate external audits and respond to information requests related to operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English and French preferred;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, auditing, commercial funding, loan servicing, or compliance;
- A university degree in a relevant field, with a professional designation such as CFA or CPA preferred;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to discern underlying principles and facts;
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are essential;
- Proven ability to foster respectful and professional relationships;
- Strong problem-solving and presentation skills;
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines;
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality in all tasks;
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a team player.
