We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mortgage Funding Specialist to join our team at First National. As a key member of our Third-Party Underwriting Division, you will play a critical role in providing underwriting expertise and services to our clients in the Canadian Mortgage Broker channel.
Key Responsibilities- Instruct, advance, and close mortgage files with precision and accuracy.
- Verify solicitor entitlement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and send instructional packages to solicitors, along with relevant documents.
- Follow up with solicitors to obtain advance requests and ensure timely completion of files.
- Organize mortgage files in the correct order and check requests for funds from solicitors.
- Send mortgage advance sheets to the accounting department and provide solicitors with lists of outstanding conditions, mortgage commitments, and advance breakdowns.
- Coordinate with mortgage accounting to release mortgage funds on a timely basis.
- Respond to inquiries within established turnaround times and adhere to AML and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods.
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Competency in MS Office and capacity to learn new technologies and systems.
- Completion of Mortgage Agent Course and/or BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) License an asset.
