Quality Assurance Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Operations
Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr
CMLS Financial, a prominent player in the Canadian commercial lending sector, is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst within the Commercial Mortgage Operations division. This role is pivotal in ensuring that loan documentation adheres to the highest standards of quality and compliance as dictated by internal policies and regulatory frameworks.
Reporting directly to the Vice President and Managing Director of Commercial Mortgage Operations, the successful candidate will meticulously evaluate loan file documentation, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of commercial lending nuances and internal protocols. The QA Analyst will provide insightful feedback on performance and propose solutions to rectify identified issues based on extensive expertise. Additionally, the QA Analyst will support transaction quality control reviews and various quality assurance functions related to loan transactions within the Commercial Mortgage Operations team to meet organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on CMLS' commercial mortgage division's policies, practices, and compliance standards;
- Review and assess commercial mortgage documentation thoroughly;
- Identify trends and areas for improvement through quality assurance analysis;
- Recommend best practices to enhance internal processes and procedures;
- Generate detailed reports on findings and communicate additional training needs to management;
- Collaborate with management to refine quality assurance guidelines and adapt auditing processes to evolving business and risk management requirements;
- Assist in implementing process improvements and internal controls;
- Provide training support as necessary;
- Aid in external audits and information requests related to operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English and French preferred;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, auditing, commercial funding, loan servicing, or compliance;
- A university degree in a relevant field, with a professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to discern underlying principles and facts;
- Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills are essential;
- Demonstrated ability to foster respectful and professional relationships;
- Excellent presentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
- Self-motivated with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively;
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality in all tasks;
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel;
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while being a team player.
