Payroll and HR Specialist

Waterford Executive is seeking a dedicated Payroll and HR Specialist to join our team at a leading manufacturing facility in south Woodbridge.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of the plant by managing all payroll functions and providing essential administrative support.
Responsibilities:- Process bi-weekly payroll for corporate processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage employee enrollment and onboarding processes within the e-time system.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all payroll inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Reconcile payroll adjustments with the corporate payroll department, maintaining clear records.
- Track and manage hourly employee vacation hours, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Monitor and record hourly employee absenteeism, providing reports as needed.
- Process weekly time sheets for agency employees, submit invoices for approval, and maintain accurate hour tracking.
- Maintain confidential employee files for hourly employees, adhering to strict data security protocols.
- Generate daily reports on employee hours worked, providing insights to the Plant Manager based on ETime data.
- Track and report on key Health & Safety metrics, contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
- Train designated payroll backup personnel, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Monitor production and maintenance KPIs and metrics, assisting with engineering student performance tracking.
- Administer the employee uniform program, ensuring efficient distribution and management.
- Provide vacation coverage and support Production Administration tasks, including work order entry.
- Assist the Plant Manager with reporting requirements, providing timely and accurate data.
- Act as a backup to the production coordinator, supporting daily operations as needed.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) as directed by the buyer, ensuring timely procurement of materials.
- College Diploma with proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Experience managing WSIB claims, demonstrating knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures.
- Familiarity with JDE/SAP systems is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
