Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our veterinary team. This includes assisting with medical procedures, handling and restraining large animals, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional patient care and support to our veterinary team
- Assist with medical procedures, including IV catheter placement, blood collection, and handling of narcotics
- Handle and restrain large animals, including horses, cows, goats, pigs, sheep, llamas, alpacas, and other species
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and facilities
- Monitor changes in animal behavior/health and report concerns to the clinical team
- Provide administrative support, including billing and organizing medical records
- 2-year College Diploma in Veterinary Technology
- Successful completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program recognized by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT)
- Full member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT)
- Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician Examination (VTNE) and the OAVT mandatory ethics exam
- Experience with and competence in handling and restraining large animals
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, particularly with respect to dealing with clients
