Position Overview:
L3Harris Technologies has been a leader in the aerospace sector for over three decades, specializing in the upkeep, enhancement, and modernization of military aircraft, including the CF-18 fighter jets. Our dedicated workforce and technical know-how have enabled us to deliver tailored solutions for the support contracts of various Canadian government aircraft fleets, including the CH-148 Cyclone and CH-147F Chinook helicopters, as well as the CC-150 Polaris (Airbus 310) aircraft. We also provide engineering, repair, and maintenance services for the F/A-18 Hornet fleets of international clients.
Our extensive expertise encompasses the refurbishment and overhaul of aircraft components, first and third line maintenance, and the design and production of aircraft parts for major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), alongside advanced technical publication solutions.

Your Role:
As an Aerospace Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in the In-Service Support (ISS) of the Canadian CH-147F Chinook Medium Heavy Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Program. Your responsibilities will include managing Tool Control and ensuring that aircraft Support and Test Equipment (STE) is maintained in optimal condition for use by Department of National Defense (DND) technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
This position involves alternating shifts and encompasses daily repair and maintenance tasks. You will instruct DND technicians on the proper use of tools and STE, and may also take on team lead responsibilities as needed. Your duties will include:
- Utilizing CribMaster software to document transactions and manage tool inventory;
- Inspecting and maintaining tool kits, tool boards, and servicing boards;
- Conducting cycle counts and reporting discrepancies to the Site Supervisor;
- Operating a laser engraver with Corel Draw and Job Control software;
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the STE Workshop;
- Adhering to all safety and security protocols;
- Providing professional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders;
- Addressing concerns raised by DND Maintenance Technicians;
- Participating in on-call Duty Tech responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Functions:
- Delivering CribMaster and Tool Control training to DND technicians;
- Contributing to the development and revision of processes as part of our Continuous Improvement Program.
Your Profile:
- Post-secondary education in aviation or a related field is preferred;
- Two to five years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance or mechanical repair;
- Ability to perform visual inspections of mechanical tools and calibrated equipment;
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask;
- Reliable team player with a customer-oriented approach;
- Organized and results-driven;
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision;
- Willingness to work overtime as needed;
- Valid driver's license is required.
Operational Requirements:
- Availability for alternating day and evening shifts;
- Eligibility for registration in the Controlled Goods Program;
- Ability to obtain and maintain the government of Canada's "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
