Position Overview:

Your Role:
As an Aerospace Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in the In-Service Support (ISS) of the Canadian CH-147F Chinook Medium Heavy Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Program. Your responsibilities will include managing Tool Control and ensuring that aircraft Support and Test Equipment (STE) is maintained in a serviceable condition, ready for use by Department of National Defense (DND) technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
This position involves alternating shifts and encompasses:
- Daily repair and maintenance tasks.
- Instructing DND Technicians on the proper use of tools and STE.
- Acting as a team lead when necessary.
- Utilizing CribMaster software to document transactions.
- Conducting tool kit inspections and providing support for deployments.
- Executing assigned tasks while adhering to Tool Control procedures and L3Harris Technologies approved processes.
Primary Functions (50%):
- Documenting the issuance and return of STE to DND Technicians using CribMaster software.
- Inspecting and maintaining tool kits, tool boards, and servicing boards as needed.
- Performing cycle counts and reporting equipment balance discrepancies to the Site Supervisor.
- Operating a laser engraver with Corel Draw and Job Control software.
- Cleaning and organizing the STE Workshop as directed.
- Adhering to all site safety and security protocols.
- Executing all tasks in a safe manner and reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensuring compliance with established internal procedures.
- Providing professional customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Addressing concerns raised by DND Maintenance Technicians.
- Carrying out on-call Duty Tech responsibilities as assigned.
Secondary Functions (15%):
- Delivering CribMaster and Tool Control training to DND Technicians.
- Contributing to the development and revision of processes and procedures as part of the Continuous Improvement Program.
Other Functions (35%):
- Supporting group projects as directed by the Site Supervisor.
- Conducting mechanical visual inspections on STE.
Your Profile:
- Post-secondary education in aviation or a related field is preferred.
- Two to five years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, or similar environments.
- Ability to perform visual inspections of mechanical tools and calibrated equipment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking.
- Reliable, hardworking, and a team player.
- Customer-focused and organized.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive in suggesting improvements to procedures.
- Quick learner with proficiency in new software applications.
- Availability for occasional overtime.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Operational Requirements:
- Must be available for alternating day and evening shifts.
- Eligibility for registration in the Controlled Goods Program is necessary.
- Must meet the criteria for obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada's "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
