Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and installing trunking systems, circuits, and equipment. They will also be required to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures, connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets, and determine work assignments.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment
- Test equipment to locate transmission faults
- Install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment
- Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures
- Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets
- Determine work assignments
- Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
- Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
- Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
- Splice, join, and connect wires
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
- Valid driver's license
- Own transportation
- Vehicle supplied by employer
- Public transportation available
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, and physically demanding conditions. They will be required to work at heights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
