Job Title: Telecommunications Cable Installer

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Cable Installer to join our team at Net Term Solutions Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and completing and maintaining test and service reports.

Work Setting

You will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and the ability to distinguish between colours. You will be physically demanding, involving bending, crouching, and kneeling. You will also be required to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets
  • Determine work assignments
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
  • Splice, join, and connect wires
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Own transportation
  • Vehicle supplied by employer
  • Public transportation is available
