Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Regional Manager to be part of the ReACT Adult Protection team. This is an opportunity to contribute to a vital service.
Responsibilities of the Regional Manager, ReAct Adult Protection Program include:
Providing leadership and oversight in managing clinical and operational risks related to adult protection complaints and ensuring adherence to statutory requirements. Acting as a representative of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in collaboration with legal advisors and external agencies during investigations and management of reports involving clients, while addressing risk management and compliance issues. Leading and supervising members of the ReAct team and designated administrative personnel, in collaboration with operations managers. Working in partnership with regional Client Relations, Risk Management, Professional Practice, Ethics, Legal Services, and Designated Responders/Coordinators (DR/DRC) to ensure uniformity and standardization of processes related to the Adult Guardianship Act and legislation affecting vulnerable adults. Directing and coordinating VCH ReAct initiatives, including educational programs, policy and protocol development, and implementation to ensure accountability, competency, and sustainability. Cultivating relationships and strategic alliances at a senior level with VCH/PHC and external organizations. Offering leadership and guidance to senior VCH leaders, medical personnel, Health Authority Designates (HAD's), and staff to ensure quality improvement strategies are effectively applied in managing vulnerable clients facing abuse, neglect, and self-neglect.This role aligns with VCH's commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
A Master's Degree in Social Work, Health Administration, or a related field. A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in progressively senior leadership roles focused on client relations, statutory compliance, and risk management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Knowledge & Skills
Proficiently coordinates strategies, systems, and processes to mitigate risks, manage client complaints, and support statutory compliance, while collaborating with others to enhance quality and safety for VCH. Applies advanced technical and analytical skills to evaluate and support risk management activities, establishing and implementing quality improvement strategies. Exceptional communication skills to assist leaders, staff, and complainants in resolving issues. Utilizes sound judgment and political acumen to convey sensitive information and effectively negotiate with various internal and external stakeholders. Expertly interprets and implements legal and regulatory obligations of VCH within the context of relevant legislation and evolving standards. Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to enhance service delivery with a focus on diversity and an indigenous perspective. Demonstrates commitment to recognizing, including, and supporting all aspects of diversity throughout engagement processes, with an understanding of the challenges faced by equity-deserving groups.
