Project Controls Specialist

Position Summary: In the role of Project Controls Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the management team within various CPG Program Control initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to provide essential project controls support by collecting, analyzing, and organizing data pertinent to project controls functions such as estimating, scheduling, cost management, risk assessment, document oversight, change management, quality assurance, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating procedures and processes for project controls governance across the CPG program, focusing on scheduling.
  • Engage in activities within a matrixed organization, coordinating with multiple workgroups to ensure timely project controls deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive monthly analytical reports, including project cost and budget summaries, project metrics dashboards, and presentations.
  • Manage tasks across various CPG program control disciplines as required.
  • Develop detailed program schedules, execute updates, monitor progress, and assist in forecasting.
  • Generate analytical reports for program-level updates.
  • Identify critical issues such as changes in the critical path and propose solutions based on thorough analysis.
  • Collaborate with PDT team members to compile and communicate schedule details and status updates.
  • Develop resource loading details and validate them with the project team to ensure precision.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports for review by senior schedulers or managers.
  • Maintain and enhance procedures for CPG Program Scheduling governance.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with various project controls functions, including estimating, scheduling, cost management, risk management, document control, change management, quality assurance, and reporting.
  • Adapt to diverse working environments and engage positively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Adhere to established quality standards and proactively recommend process improvements.
  • Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within project controls.
  • Conduct data analysis to ensure quality and contribute to the successful achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Technology, Science, Project Management, Business, or Finance.
  • Demonstrated experience in various sectors, including engineering, procurement, construction, finance, operations, and maintenance.
  • Experience in a project control or project management environment, particularly within EPC and EPCM frameworks, is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking to manage real-world challenges.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a large, integrated team environment.
  • Open to cross-functional training across various project controls functions.
  • A mindset geared towards continual improvement and efficiency in processes.
