About the Role

The City of Calgary is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialized Adult Instructor to join our Recreation and Social Programs team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in your specialized discipline, including program development and skill-based training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching programs for adults, focusing on skill-based training and knowledge sharing.
  • Program Planning and Development: Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement new programs, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse participants.
  • Assessment and Adaptation: Assess participant needs and provide adaptations to ensure inclusive and accessible programming.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure the safety of participants by maintaining a safe learning environment and adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of 18 years of age, with demonstrated knowledge and skills in program planning, organization, and leadership.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of specialized equipment and the ability to set up, maintain, and operate it.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
